Our Story

Exotic and mesmerizing, India is a land of complexity and contrast, a vivid tapestry of people, languages and culture. Among the oldest civilization on earth, Indian culture has evolved over centuries absorbing ideas of cooking from the Greeks, the Persians, Arabs, Mughals, Portuguese, Dutch, French and British. From the Mughals, Northern Indians learned to make rice pilaf and biriyani, an elaborate layer of rice and meat. In the tropical south, food is hotter and seafood dominates the coastal regions. Over here, the treasured fruit of Coconut palm yields coconut milk for Curries and Coconut water for fermented beverage. From North to South, India offers an endless varied feast befitting its multi cultural heritage.

Spice is part of an Indian Life. We believe, “Without spice there is no life”

Some of the most common spices used in Indian cooking are: Chilli, Cinnamon, Coriander, Cardamom, Clove, cumin seed, Black mustard seed, Asafoaetida, Turmeric, Bay leaf, Nutmeg, Ginger, Garlic etc.. and of these, Clove, Cinamon and Cardomom form the basic spices for “Garam Masala”. Garam (Hot) Masala helps in breaking down the food. That is just one of the benefits mentioned. Similarly all the spices mentioned above has its own individual health benefits. We at Bombay Royale try our best to give our customers a delightful, exotic, vivid experience when they get to try our different variety of dishes. Each dish has a story to tell own its own from the place it came from.

For a first timer who never has tried Indian food, we suggest:

Start off with an appetizer of your choice. If you are confused or have questions, always our front floor staff is available to help you and would even suggest a choice for you if you’d like. When ordering an entree of your choice, definitely ask for some kind of flat bread such as Naan, Roti etc..and if you haven’t already ordered an entree from Tandoor Specialities, definitely try one of our Tandoor dishes. Tandoor is an Indian Clay Oven. Food cooked in a Tandoor is Juicy, Healthy and Delicious.

If you feel that the food is too spicy for you, try one our traditional Indian beverage “Lassi” – Mango lassi being the most popular of them. This semi sweet mango flavored yogurt smoothie makes a perfect pairing with any spicy Indian food.

It is customary to eat indian food with hands, so don’t be afraid to treat the bread on the table like your fork to dip and scoop your curry dishes and dive right in. Yes, eating with hands can be messy, hey but you can always wash them and as you end your meals, if you can’t resist to finger lick, go ahead, we won’t judge you.

Sharing is caring. By sharing and eating in an Indian restaurant you will be able to eat a variety of food and also it will make the time spent a fun interactive experience at the same time. So bring your friends too. If you still have appetite left, then you must try one our our desserts like Gulab Jamun, Rasmalai etc…and that puts an end to the 3 course Indian Cuisine.
